In addition to being a composer and musician, Drew is an avid educator. For the past four years, he has primarily been teaching at LX Music School in Brooklyn, NY. He has also presented numerous jazz and composition clinics across the country at University of Reno Nevada, Porterville College, Truman State University, Idyllwild Arts High School, Bakersfield Jazz Workshop, Walnut Creek Intermediate School, and Carlisle High School. Drew has been teaching saxophone, clarinet, guitar, and composition lessons to students of all ages and ability levels for over ten years. He also has experience teaching music theory and aural skills along with directing saxophone ensembles and group lessons. His students have received perfect scores on the highest levels of ABRSM and NYSSMA tests.

As a teacher, Drew's philosophy is to cater the lessons toward the student's individual interests while focusing on the fundamental skills of their instrument. By finding material that they are interested in, he hopes to inspire them to go home and practice. Playing music should be a fun experience instead of a chore.

Drew received a Bachelor of Music in Classical Saxophone Performance from Truman State University located in Kirksville, Missouri. After graduating, he moved to New York City and received a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from New York University.
