Warren is a medium-up tempo swing waltz featuring an infectious melody. This is one of my earliest big band arrangements and was heavily influenced by the legendary Kenny Wheeler, whom I had the privilege of meeting during a clinic he gave while I was attending NYU. Musically, while accessible, the piece has a few tricky sections with frequent modulations, 2/4 bars, and asymmetrical phrase lengths.
